Code Red Phone Call from Carlisle Police Department

Did you receive a phone call from the Carlisle Police Department and wonder what is up? Well I took the liberty of gathering all that info for you.

The message you received said:

This is the Carlisle Police Department with an important message for all residents and businesses located in city of Carlisle.
We have licensed the CodeRED Community Notification System to help disseminate important or critical information.
We encourage all residents and businesses to go to the www.carlislear.org website, click on the CodeRED logo located on the home page and enter their contact information, including additional phone numbers, and text and email addresses, to ensure all of the data in our system is accurate and current. Best practice is to create a managed account, so that you can make any changes.
If you know of anyone who did not receive this call who lives in city of Carlisle please encourage them to visit the city’s website and enter their information.
If you do not have Internet access, please contact a friend or family member to help add your contact information to the emergency database. You can also call the Carlisle Police Department directly at 870-552-3431 for assistance. That is 870-552-3431
Thank you.

You can sign up for this at: https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BF8A4B0457C3

If you have already signed up and want to change your settings go to the login link at the top right of the previous link.

The same company also provides smart phone apps for both Apple and Android phones. But, just so you know, the associated apps do NOT link to your community notification account. They are separate so you will need two accounts. You can see all of the notices on the apps, BUT I am thinking this will make your information in the smart phone app NOT visible to the city’s first responders in the event of an emergency. If you only want to bother with one, I would strongly urge you to opt for the account you sign up for through the city and NOT the app. The app however might be useful when you are traveling as it should connect you to alerts in that area. And of course there are competitors to Code Red that provide similar functionality.

If you want to download the associated app you can do so at:

Android (Google, Samsung, etc.) – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecnetwork.crma

Apple phones (iPhone) – https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/codered-mobile-alert/id468404991

Anyway hope this helps explain what is going on. Please feel free to share or copy paste to get the word out to everyone!
